In this poetic play, two lost souls catch a glimmer of happiness together under a lovers´ moon. But when dawn breaks, will their desire be strong enough to withstand a lifetime of regret and disappointment? Set at a Connecticut tenant farm in 1923, this great American classic follows Josie Hogan, a boisterous Irish woman with a quick tongue, a tarnished reputation and a tender heart; and Jim Tyrone, a tortured alcoholic haunted by past indiscretions. One of America’s master storytellers at the height of his prowess, Pulitzer Prize-winner and Nobel laureate Eugene O’Neill creates a mythic tale of old sins and the redemptive power of love. Featuring company member Joseph Fuqua, Matthew Grondin, Scott Roberts, Rebekah Tripp, Toby Tropper and Granville Van Dusen.

Rubicon's “Moon” Illuminates the Lives of Two Suffering Souls

A Moon for the Misbegotten comes alive on the stage with a cast so IMMERSED in their roles that EVERY WORD, MOVE AND EMOTION FLOWS AS NATURALLY AS A SWIFT AND SPARKLING STREAM. Misbegotten is O’NEILL AT HIS BEST and the cast makes that eminently clear.

MAGNIFICENT.. The play, while weighty in subject, is FULL OF LAUGHTER and HIGH SPIRITS.

The acting is FIRST-RATE. Tripp is MAGNIFICENT as Josie. WINNINGLY HEARTFELT. Van Dusen steals the hour as Phil Hogan… absolutely INVIGORATING. Fuqua is such a MARVEL. Rubicon can feel rightfully proud once more for this LOVELY EVENING IN THE THEATRE.
